Hans Wattler

Hans Wattler (born January 5, 1927 , † July 21, 2008 in Grevenbroich ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and mayor of Grevenbroich from 1969 to 1979.

Life

Wattler received his doctorate in 1957 with a thesis "The behavior of the murderer after the crime" in Bonn . From 1969 to 1979 he was mayor of Grevenbroich. After the municipal reorganization in 1975 he was the first mayor of the city of Grevenbroich, in which he had played a key role. The integration of the formerly independent municipalities into the new city of Grevenbroich was his focus during this time.

Wattler was a member of the Grevenbroich City Council in the two electoral periods from 1979 to 1989 and was also chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. From 1989 to 1994 he was a competent citizen in the city council of Grevenbroich. He represented the interests of Grevenbroich in the main, personnel, environment and property committee; He also contributed his knowledge to the Legal and Partnership Committee. He died on July 21, 2008 at the age of 81.

Wattler was married and the father of two daughters.

Honor

In June 2010, the former Carl-Diem -Strasse in the Grevenbroich district of Gustorf was renamed Dr.-Hans-Wattler-Strasse.
