Erich Heckelmann

Erich Heckelmann (born February 20, 1935 in Daaden in the Altenkirchen district ) is a German teacher and politician ( SPD ).

Life

After graduating from high school, Heckelmann attended the Pedagogical College, passed the state examination for teaching there in 1957 and then attended a conservatory, where he passed the second state examination for teaching in 1961. He then completed a distance learning course in Protestant theology at the University of Tübingen from 1972 to 1974 and worked as the head of a working group for the advanced training of young teachers. In 2007 Heckelmann was appointed honorary chairman of the Aeroclub -Grevenbroich. Heckelmann has 2 children who were born in 1957 and 1962.

Political party

Heckelmann joined the SPD in 1956, became a member of the subdistrict board of the Neuss district in 1966 and headed it until 1995.

MP

From 1964 to 1974 he was a local councilor in Neukirchen and chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.

From 1964 to 1974 he was a member of the Grevenbroich District Council, from 1975 to 1979 and 1994 to 1996 he was a member of the Grevenbroich City Council and also full-time mayor there from 1994 to 1999.

From 1975 to 1994 he was a member of the Neuss district council and chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there .

He was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from April 17, 1978 to May 28, 1980 and from January 29, 1981 to July 5, 1996. His successor was Franz Müntefering .

In the period from June 1, 2001 to May 31, 2005, he was the state government representative for resettlement issues in the Rhenish lignite mining district.
