Ágústa Eva Erlendsdóttir (born July 28, 1982 in Reykjavík ; Erlendsdóttir = German " Erlendur's daughter") is an Icelandic actress and singer .

Life

Ágústa Eva Erlendsdóttir grew up in a medium-sized family in Iceland. She attended school through 11th grade. From 2005 she became known through the role of the singer Silvía Nótt (or also Silvía Night , Silvia Night or Sylvia Night ; Nótt and Night = German "night") in a comedy show on Icelandic television. Characteristic for the role are her precisely staged “Larger than Life” appearances, as well as the urge for spectacular self-expression, which is reflected, for example, in eye-catching clothing and make-up. The show and Silvia Night in particular quickly achieved cult status on the island. As Silvía Nótt she also released a solo album under the English title Goldmine .

In 2006, Ágústa took part in the Icelandic preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest and won by a large margin as Silvia Night with the song Til hamingju Ísland ("Congratulations Iceland"). The title was then sung by her at the competition in English under the title Congratulations (Eng. "Glückwunsch"). She did not reach the grand finale, but was eliminated in the semifinals in 13th place. During her performance, she received whistles and boos, as her pretended arrogance was not well received by many in the audience and she had insulted the Greeks who carried out the ESC at a press conference.

Also in 2006 she stood in front of the camera in Der Tote aus Nordermoor (orig. Mýrin ), an Icelandic film production directed by Baltasar Kormákur . The template was provided by the detective novel by Arnaldur Indriðason . In the award-winning film, she plays the drug-addicted and homeless daughter of the protagonist, Commissioner Erlendur (played by Ingvar Eggert Sigurðsson ). Since then she has appeared in various Icelandic film and series productions.
