Dadi Freyr

Daði Freyr Pétursson (* 30th June 1992 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic Electro - musicians and singers .

Daði Freyr was born in Reykjavík and spent his childhood in Denmark . He came back to Iceland at the age of nine and then lived in the South Urland region . Today he lives in Berlin .

In 2012 he founded the indie electro band RetRoBot, with whom he released an album. In 2014 he moved to Berlin to study music production. In 2017 he took part in the Icelandic preliminary decision Söngvakeppnin for the Eurovision Song Contest and won with his self-composed electro title Is This Love? the second place. In 2020 he won the preliminary round with his song Think About Things . He was accompanied by the Gagnamagnið group , which also includes his wife Árný Fjóla and his sister Sigrún. After the victory, he was supposed to represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam , which had to be canceled on March 18, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic .
