Anna Mjöll

Anna Mjöll Ólafsdóttir (born January 7, 1970 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic jazz singer and composer .

Live and act

Anna Mjöll comes from a musical family. She learned the piano , guitar and cello and studied music in Paris and Los Angeles . She was selected to represent Iceland at the 1996 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo . With the jazz pop song Sjúbidú ("Schubiduu"), which she wrote with her father, she landed in 13th place.

After the competition she worked as a background singer for Julio Iglesias for a few years . Several of her solo albums in the field of jazz followed. She moved to Los Angeles, where she also works as a singing teacher.
