Band history

On February 12, 2011, the group won the national preselection Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins with the title Aftur heim . Actually, the singer Sigurjón "Sjonni" Brink should sing this self-composed piece, which was written with his wife Þórunn Clausen, in the preliminary decision. Sigurjón Brink wrote the English text, which his wife translated into Icelandic . Sigurjón Brink died unexpectedly on January 17, 2011 in his hometown of Garðabær . He was only 36 years old and left behind a wife and four children. His family decided to get his song through the newly formed band in the competition.

In Dusseldorf , the group presented the English version, titled Coming Home ( German : 'homecoming') and entered on 10 May 2011, in the first semifinal. Sigurjón's Friends made it into the final four days later, where they finished 20th with 61 points.
