Hera Björk Þórhallsdóttir (born March 29, 1972 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic singer who took part in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest .

Career

She took part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 for Iceland with the song Je ne sais quoi , which was partly self-written , after she had supported the then representatives of Iceland, Eurobandið and Yohanna as a background singer in 2008 and 2009 . In the semifinals she was able to qualify with the third of 16 places. In the final, she finished 19th out of 25 places, although she was thought to be a promising candidate in advance.

In 2009 Hera Björk wanted to represent Denmark with the song Someday , but she failed in the preliminary decision due to Niels Brinck . Later her song took part in the OGAE Second Chance Contest organized by Eurovision fans and took first place there.

In 2013 she took part in the International Song Festival of Viña del Mar in Chile for Iceland , where she won the competition with her song Because You Can .

In 2015 she also supported María Ólafsdóttir in her performance in Vienna as a background singer at the Eurovision Song Contest . In 2016 she also moderated the Eurovision In-Concert in Amsterdam .

In 2019 she took part again in the Icelandic preliminary round with the song Moving On . However, she did not make it into the top two participants in the final and therefore did not qualify for the Eurovision Song Contest .
