Björgvin Helgi Halldórsson (born April 16, 1951 ) is an Icelandic pop singer from Hafnarfjörður .

He made a name for himself as a singer in bands like Bendix , Ævintýri , Flowers and Brimkló .

Björgvin represented Iceland at the 1995 Eurovision Song Contest , where he came in 15th.

Björgvin has worked for Stöð 2 as an announcer since the early days . He was nicknamed Hin gullna rödd Stöðvar 2 ( The Golden Voice of Channel 2 ). His announcements on TV always have the following form: "Farið ekki langt því næst á dagskrá er ..." ("Don't go far away. Next comes ...")

The singer is also known for his arrogant remarks and comments. Some of them are classics of oral tradition in Iceland. An example is the following answer that Björgvin supposedly gave when a taxi driver asked for his money (there is also the variation with a pizza delivery boy): "Myndirðu rukka Elvis?" ("Would you ask Elvis for money?")
