Abdelhafid Tasfaout (born February 11, 1969 in Oran ) is a former Algerian football player and current record goal scorer of the Algerian national football team .

Player career

society

Abdelhafid Tasfaout was born in the Algerian coastal town of Oran and began his football career in 1982 at MC Oran , but joined the youth team of the lower-class SCNF Oran in 1985 before moving to ASM Oran's youth academy after just one year .

There he finally celebrated his professional debut in the first Algerian league in 1987.

In the summer of 1990 he moved to city rivals MC Oran , where he promptly established himself as a regular player and was subsequently appointed to the Algerian senior national team for the first time in November 1990. With the club he won the Algerian championship in the 1991/92 and 1992/93 seasons and was top scorer and player of the season twice in a row.

In July 1995 he moved to AJ Auxerre , where he was able to celebrate winning the doubles, the French championship and the Coupe de France in his first season with the club .

1997 Tasfaout was finally loaned to the league rivals EA Guingamp and soon afterwards firmly committed by the club. In his first season for Guingamp he was relegated to Ligue 2 with the club , before being promoted back to the French first division in June 2000.

After five years he left the club in 2002 towards Qatar for Al-Rayyan SC , where he finally ended his career a year later.

National team

Abdelhafid Tasfaout was appointed to the Algerian national team for the first time in November 1990 and made his debut on December 11, 1990 in an unofficial friendly against a B selection from England . He played his first official international match on February 15, 1991 against Cameroon . With the national team Tasfaout took part in five African championships between 1992 and 2002 , but always missed the qualification for a world championship .
