Abdellatif Zeroual
Abdellatif Zeroual (* 1951 in Berrechid , † November 14, 1974 in Casablanca ) was a Moroccan teacher of philosophy and a member of the national committee of the Ila Al-Amam movement .
Life
Zeroual's father was already a fighter who fought the protectorate France before Morocco regained independence. He went underground in 1970 when the Moroccan government tried to crush the Ila al-Aman movement. One of his fellow sufferers was Abraham Serfaty .
In 1973, Zeroual was sentenced to death in absentia. He was arrested by plainclothes officers on November 5, 1974 on the way to a secret meeting and then disappeared. A week later, an unknown body was admitted to a hospital in Rabat . Human rights activists are certain that the dead was Zeroual, although official bodies in Morocco never confirmed this.
