Abdemon (king)
Abdemon ( Greek Ἀβδήμων ) was at the end of the 5th century BC. Chr. King of Salamis in Cyprus .
Life
Abdemon was of Phoenician origin and came either from Tire , where the name is often used, or from Kition on Cyprus. Around 415 BC He killed the usurper of Salamis, who came from Tire. Euagoras I , who supposedly belonged to a Greek dynasty ( Teukriden ) , fled to Soloi in Cilicia, but came after 410 BC. Back with followers and overthrew Abdemon.
