Abdul Vas
Abdul Vas (born March 15, 1981 in Maracay , Venezuela ) is a contemporary painter and draftsman. After studying in Venezuela and Amsterdam , the artist lives and works in Madrid and Amsterdam.

Abdul Va's work includes the sometimes aggressive attempt to address the obsessions of his homeland Venezuela with the symbols of the American dream and its myths. The central part of the picture is often one or more roosters that represent, so to speak, the male element of American cowboy culture. Guns, fuel-guzzling SUVs, baseball and beauty pageants are often featured in his pictures. References to the rock group AC / DC , the American baseball team Cincinnati Reds or the National Rifle Association often appear . Marc Chagall and James Ensor had a great influence on the art of Abdul Vas .
