Abdullah (tile painter)
Abdullah was a painter or ceramist of decorative ceramic tiles ( majolica ) in the Khiva Khanate . He was involved in the design of several outstanding buildings in the old town of Chiwas Ichan Qalʼа , now a UNESCO World Heritage Site . For example, with Usto Abdulla Ibadulla, he painted the intricate plant patterns in the area of the summer mosque of the Khans' mosque in the Konya Ark citadel, built under Khan Alla Kuli (reign from 1825 to 1842) . He also decorated the Tasch Hauli palace, which was also built under Alla Kuli . Abdullah's name was immortalized in cartouches in his works . Because of his outstanding skills, the ceramic master was nicknamed the Djinn .
