Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Sheikh

Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Sheikh ( Arabic عبد الله بن محمد آل الشيخ; born 1948 in Diriyya ) is a Saudi Arabian clergyman and politician. He is currently the spokesman for the Majlis al-Shura and one of the most influential legal scholars in his country. From 1992 to 2009 he was Saudi Arabia's Minister of Justice.

He is a son of Grand Mufti Muhammad ibn Ibrahim Al-Sheikh from the Al-Sheikh family , the descendants of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab . He studied Koran exegesis with his father and completed a degree in Sharia law in Riyadh at Shariah College , later al-Imam University , and at Azhar University in Cairo .

In November 1992 he was appointed Minister of Justice of Saudi Arabia, until he was replaced by Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Issa in February 2009 and later appointed chairman of the Majlis al-Shura .
