Douglas Brian "Doug" Berndt (born September 10, 1949 in Denver , Colorado ; † February 2, 1995 there ) was an American figure skater .
With his partner Barbara Brown , Berndt won the junior title at the 1970 US championships . In the following two years they each came third in the seniors. In both years they also took part in the World Figure Skating Championships and finished 11th and 14th. At the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo , Berndt and Brown reached 12th place.
Between 1972 and 1977 Berndt took part in the Holiday on Ice ice show .
After finishing his active career, Berndt graduated from the University of Colorado and worked as a flight attendant for United Airlines .
