The building Abendstrasse 16 is a listed barn in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

The building is located on the east side of Abendstrasse in Magdeburg's Neue Neustadt district , on the northeast corner of Moritzplatz.

Architecture and history

The barn was built from rubble stones in the middle of the 19th century . She stands with her gable end to the street and has a gable roof covered. Originally, it belonged as an annex to a homestead on the corner of Moritzstrasse and the corner of Abendstrasse, but not preserved.

In the local register of monuments , the barn is listed as a monument under registration number 094 70978 .

The barn is a remnant of the original agricultural character of the New New Town, which is now structured in a big city. It is therefore of particular importance in terms of urban and economic history.
