Aberfeldie is a district in the northwest of the Australian metropolis Melbourne , about 9 km from the city center, and is part of the local administrative area Moonee Valley City . In 2016 the district had around 3,900 inhabitants. It is bounded to the west by Afton Street, to the north by Buckley Street, to the east by Waverley Street and to the south by the Maribyrnong River .
The Scot James Robertson, who originally owned the area, named his property after the town of Aberfeldy in Scotland . After the sale in 1888 the name was kept.
Today the cityscape is characterized by larger parks and residential areas with single-family houses.
