Hans-Günter "Atze" Becker (born August 31, 1938 ) is a former German soccer player . He played 33 Bundesliga games .

Career

The right runner Becker began playing football at Sparta and later played at ASV Berlin. With the ASV he was 1954 Berlin youth champion. In 1958 he began his contract playing career with Viktoria 89 Berlin in the city ​​league , at that time one of the five top divisions in western Germany.

In 1961 the defender Becker, who was a full-time employee in the public service , moved to the league and city rivals Tasmania Berlin . For Tasmania he came to 49 city league appearances in which he scored 1 goal. In 1962 he was with the club Berliner Meister and also in 1962 the Berlin Cup winner. After Tasmania had become champion of the second-rate Regionalliga Berlin in 1964 , he also took part in the promotion games to the Bundesliga. In 1965, Tasmania surprisingly rose to the Bundesliga due to the withdrawal of its license for Hertha BSC . In the 1965/66 season , Becker, who was the team's captain, played all but one of the games. The club achieved only eight points in the season, set numerous negative records and consequently relegated to the Berlin Regionalliga. In 1969, Tasmania took part again as Berlin runner-up in the promotion round to the Bundesliga. Becker played all 8 games of the promotion round, in which Tasmania was only fourth with 4 points.

Becker stayed with Tasmania until the end of his career in 1971. After the Tasmania was only third in 1970, Becker ended his active career in 1970. However, he was reactivated briefly at the beginning of the 1971/72 season, but did not come to any regional league use this season. In total, he came to the Tasmanians on 156 regional league missions, in which he scored 14 goals.

Becker also played two European Cup matches in the 1962/63 trade fair cup against the city selection Utrecht XI .
