Abraham Afewerki (born January 30, 1966 in Asmara , Abyssinia , † October 7, 2006 in Massaua , Eritrea) was an Eritrean singer, songwriter and producer.

biography

Abraham Afewerki was born in Asmara in the Abyssinian Empire. During the Eritrean War of Independence , he and his family fled first to Sudan , then to Italy , where he also studied. His musical career spanned 15 years from 1991 until his death in 2006. Most recently he lived in the United States . He drowned while filming a video in the Red Sea at the age of 40 .
