Acacio Valbuena Rodríguez
Acacio Valbuena Rodríguez OMI (born May 8, 1922 in Horcadas , Spain , † May 4, 2011 in Madrid ) was Apostolic Prefect of Western Sahara .
Life
Acacio Valbuena Rodriguez joined the Congregation of the Oblates in and received on 17 March 1945, the priestly ordination . He worked in Argentina, including provincial and novice master.
Pope John Paul II appointed him on April 27, 1987 Apostolic Prefect of the Western Sahara, based in El Aaiún (Laâyoune), Morocco, in the Western Sahara Territory on the Atlantic coast of northwest Africa.
On February 25, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
