The Associação Académica do Mindelo ( Acadèmica do Mindelo for short ) is a Cape Verdean football club from Mindelo on the island of São Vicente . The professional soccer team of the Acadèmica Mindelo plays its home games in the city's Estádio Municipal Adérito Sena . The stadium has an artificial turf pitch and holds 8,000 spectators.

The club was founded on April 1, 1940 in Mindelo as a subsidiary of the Portuguese club Académica Coimbra .
