Académie de Football Amadou Diallo-Djékanou is an Ivorian football club in Abidjan .

history

The club was founded on June 27, 2005 as Association Sportive Pythagore (AS Pythagore). At first, AFAD played under the colors white, orange and green. In 2006 the association acted as the IFF (Afaf) youth academy in Yamoussoukro . The club offered young people between the ages of 14 and 15 and between 16 and 17 a sporty home. The teams competed at the regional Central East championships.

After the takeover by the Fédération Ivoirienne de Football , the club changed the name to "Académie de Football Feu Amadou Diallo Djékanou". The name of the association is derived from Amadou Diallo, a close friend of President Jacques Anouma . He is buried on the Abidjan plateau in Djékanou.

In 2009 a professional team was founded, which made the leap into the MTN Ligue 1 straight away. The team's best-known player is Sérges Konan Kouadio , who played for Fredrikstad FK for a while and for AS Cherbourg in France . In 2011 he achieved the greatest success when they finished second behind Africa Sports . This qualified them for the CAF Champions League 2012 . The majority of the team today consists mainly of former players from ASEC Mimosas or from the Académie de Sol Beni led by Jean-Marc Guillou .

Stadion

The team plays their home games at the Stade Municipal d'Abidjan. This offers space for 9,000 spectators.
