history

The Aché story began in 1922 when the French Philipe Aché , in collaboration with the pharmacist Juan Palma Travassos , set up a laboratory in Ribeirão Preto , São Paulo. In 1960 a modest little factory was built in Santana which manufactured a product for the swelling of the nasal mucous membranes. The path to becoming a pharmaceutical company only began in 1966 when Victor Siaulys and his partners took over in 1965 .

In April 2013, it was announced that some of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies had submitted purchase bids for the Brazilian Aché Laboratórios Farmacêuticos SA, reported the Reuters news agency . Both the Swiss Novartis and the two US companies Pfizer and Abbott Laboratories are interested in a takeover. Whether a deal will come about is still unclear in view of the disagreement between the three families who control the company.
