Achille Amerio
Achille Franco Luigi Amerio (born November 29, 1948 in Glasgow ) is a former Italian diplomat .
Life
Achille Amerio studied law at La Sapienza University . He joined the foreign service in 1974. He was employed in Lausanne , Bucharest , Ankara , Paris , Moscow , as well as the representation of the Italian government at the North Atlantic Council . From 2004 to 2008 he was counselor in the Italian Ministry of Defense. From March 2008 to June 5, 2012 he was ambassador to Damascus .
