Achillea cretica is a plant from the genus of yarrow ( Achillea ) in the family of Compositae (Asteraceae).

features

Achillea cretica is a dwarf shrub that reaches heights of 7 to 30 centimeters. The leaves are 10 to 25 millimeters long and 2 to 4 millimeters wide. They have numerous small curled sections. The umbrella cluster consists of 5 to 50 heads and is more or less dense. The ray-flowers are white. The tongues are 4 to 5 millimeters long.

The flowering period extends from April to June.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 18.

Occurrence

Achillea cretica occurs in Greece, in the Aegean region with Crete, in Turkey and in Cyprus. The species grows on rock faces and is mostly found on coasts. In Crete it can be found at altitudes from 0 to 550, rarely up to 900 meters.
