Achim Holub

Achim Holub (* 1966 in Graz ) is an Austrian conductor .

Life

Achim Holub studied with Milan Horvat at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz , with Michael Gielen at the Mozarteum Salzburg and Ferdinand Leitner at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana . In the 1990s he was assistant conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic , the NDR Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic . In 2001 he founded the Kammerphilharmonie Graz , of which he is the artistic director. Holub has been chief conductor of the London Classical Soloists since 2010. He also worked with John Eliot Gardiner and well-known soloists such as the Austrian guitarist Johanna Beisteiner and the British pianist Nick van Bloss .
