Johanna Beisteiner
Johanna Beisteiner (born February 20, 1976 in Wiener Neustadt ) is an Austrian classical guitarist .
Life
Johanna Beisteiner received her first instrumental lessons at the age of nine at the Josef Matthias Hauer Music School in Wiener Neustadt and only moved to the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 1992 at the age of sixteen , where she studied concert and doctoral studies with a dissertation in art music in figure skating, synchronized swimming and rhythmic gymnastics from 1990 to the present as Dr. phil. completed.
Beisteiner works internationally as a soloist. Her repertoire includes not only well-known works from the 15th to 20th centuries, but also new music, including premieres of numerous compositions by Robert Gulya , Reuben Pace and Eduard Schafranski . She has also worked with well-known orchestras such as the Budapest Symphony Orchestra , the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra , the Sochi Symphony Orchestra , the Graz Chamber Philharmonic and the Budapest String Chamber Orchestra under the direction of renowned conductors such as Michelle Castelletti , Béla Drahos , Achim Holub and Oleg Soldatow . In 2008 she shot the video clip The Milonguero and the Muse to music by Robert Gulya with the Argentine tango dancer and choreographer Rafael Ramirez . In 2012 she wrote her first own composition, Zemlinsky's Nacht, based on themes by Alexander von Zemlinsky . Together with the Viennese actress Heidrun Saturday, she presents the musical and literary evening Farkas Discover America from a volume of poems of the same name by the Austrian cabaret artist Karl Farkas , who in this work ironically escaped the Nazi regime via France and Spain to the USA and describes his life there. In 2017 Beisteiner made a guest appearance at the Valletta International Baroque Festival with concerts in the Teatru Manoel and the National Library of Malta . Since 2017, Beisteiner has appeared with the Viennese actress Katrin Stuflesser at musical-literary events and also presents herself as a singer.
The guitarist's recordings are released by Gramy Records . Beisteiner also worked on soundtracks for the films Truce (USA, 2005) and SOS szerelem! (Hungary, 2007) and was heard on radio and television, including a. at Rai 3 and Bartók Rádió .
Johanna Beisteiner plays a Spanish concert guitar from the master workshop of Paulino Bernabe and son .
