Paulino Bernabé Almendáriz (born July 2, 1932 in Madrid ; † May 10, 2007 there ) was a Spanish guitar maker .

Life

Paulino Bernabé initially received musical training from Daniel Fortea and then learned the art of guitar making from José Ramírez III . After founding his first own workshop in 1969, he developed an individual design and a new type of rail system inside his instruments. From the early 1980s until shortly before his death in 2007, Bernabe worked with his son Paulino , born in 1960 , who took over the workshop in Madrid (Cuchilleros 8) from his father.

Instruments built by Paulino Bernabe were and are played by internationally known guitarists, including a. by Narciso Yepes , Johanna Beisteiner and Alexandre Lagoya .

Awards

In 1974 Paulino Bernabe (father) was awarded the gold medal at the International Crafts Fair in Munich ( Germany ).
