Reuben Pace

Reuben Pace (* 1974 ) is a Maltese composer .

Life

Reuben Pace completed his education in composition, music theory and conducting at the University of Malta and Bangor University , where he received his Ph.D. Title has been awarded. His main teachers included Charles Camilleri , Anthony Bonello, Laurence Borg and Joseph Sammut . Already during his studies he dealt intensively with morphing and developed his individual composition technique and sound language from it.

Pace's works are performed by internationally renowned orchestras and ensembles. On January 26, 2017, the world premiere of his Concertino for guitar , harpsichord and orchestra took place in the Teatru Manoel as part of the Valletta International Baroque Festival . Participants were the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Michelle Castelletti and the soloists Johanna Beisteiner (guitar) and Joanne Camilleri (harpsichord). The BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the Duke Quartet also played some of his compositions.
