With Racich she also took part in the U21 World Cup in Halifax . Hughes / Wong finished ninth again at the 2012 U19 World Cup in Larnaka . In the same year the U21 World Cup took place in Halifax again; this time Hughes and Summer Ross just missed a medal after a 14:16 in the tie-break against the Australians Artacho / Clancy . In 2013 she won the bronze medal with Kelly Claes at the U19 World Cup in Porto by beating the German Schneider / Schreiber . With Lane Carico she won the NORCECA tournament in Puerto Rico .

In 2014 Hughes finished fifth with Kellie Woolever at the U23 World Cup in Mysłowice . Then she formed a solid duo with Claes. Hughes / Claes took third place at the U21 World Cup in Larnaka. Hughes also reached the finals at the continental tournaments in Puerto Rico with Claes and in Chula Vista with Whitney Pavlik . At the Grand Slam in Long Beach they took part in a tournament of the FIVB World Tour for the first time. Then they won the NORCECA tournament in Varadero .

At the 2016 AVP tournaments in New York and San Francisco , Hughes / Claes had to admit defeat to Ross / Walsh and finished third and second. After a 17th place in the major tournament of the World Tour 2016 in Klagenfurt , they achieved another tournament victory in Puerto Rico. They finished the year in ninth place at the Grand Slam in Long Beach. In early 2017, Hughes played at the five-star World Tour tournament in Fort Lauderdale for once with Lauren Fendrick , as participation with her regular partner would not have been possible. After that, Hughes / Claes were reunited and reached two fifth places in the FIVB series in Rio de Janeiro and Poreč . They finished seventh and ninth at the AVP tournaments in New York and Seattle . They also came ninth in the five-star World Tour tournament in Gstaad . At the World Championships in Vienna , Hughes / Claes reached the round of 16, in which they were eliminated against the later world champions Ludwig / Walkenhorst .
