Robert Gulya (born November 10, 1973 in Gyöngyös ) is a Hungarian composer .

Life

Robert Gulya studied at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest, the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and the Faculty for Film, TV and Digital Media at the University of California, Los Angeles . He composes classical works in different line-ups as well as film music, is the owner of the production company Interscore LTD and works with renowned film directors and producers. His music has been performed worldwide and published on phonograms and in print. He created numerous works for the Austrian guitarist Johanna Beisteiner , including a concerto for guitar and orchestra. Gulya began his work on this guitar concert during a stay in the USA in autumn 2001, shortly after the 9/11 attacks , which is why he chose a theme in the first movement that is reminiscent of that terrorist act. The first performance of this guitar concert took place with Johanna Beisteiner and the Budapest Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Béla Drahos and was released on DVD by Gramy Records .
