Monte Castello di Vibio is an Italian municipality with 1504 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Perugia in Umbria and is a member of the association I borghi più belli d'Italia (The Most Beautiful Places in Italy). The place has had the suffix Vibio since 1863.

The municipality is located about 30 km south of the provincial and regional capital Perugia .

The districts of the municipality are Doglio and Madonna del Piano ( 182  m slm , approx. 200 inhabitants).

The neighboring municipalities are Fratta Todina , San Venanzo ( TR ) and Todi .

  • Teatro della Concordia , which is considered the smallest all'italiana theater in the world.
  • Santi Filippo e Giacomo , parish church in the center, which was completed in 1851 and was built on the site of the church that was demolished in 1839.
  • Santa Illuminata , church in the town center. Built in 1839 over a 15th century church. The campanile was built in 1850. The terracotta high altar , created in 1897, was designed by Francesco Biscarini.
  • Porta di Maggio , also known as Torre di Porta di Maggio , still existing defensive gate of the two medieval defensive gates of the fortification walls.
  • Madonna delle Carceri , church just outside the defensive walls. First mentioned on June 14, 1624 in a document from the Bishop of Todi, Marcello Lante .
