Fratta Todina is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 1840 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Perugia in Umbria .

geography

The municipality is located about 30 kilometers south of Perugia and belongs to the Comunità montana Orvietano Narnese Amerino Tuderte . It borders directly on the province of Terni . The Tiber forms the eastern boundary of the municipality.

The only district is Stazione ( 156  m slm , approx. 130 inhabitants)

The neighboring municipalities include Collazzone , Marsciano , Monte Castello di Vibio , San Venanzo ( TR ) and Todi .

Attractions

  • San Felice , church in the center, built between 1654 and 1657 by Cardinal Giovambattista Altieri, replacing the older church.
  • Palazzo vescovile , episcopal palace from the 17th century.
  • Santa Maria della Spineta , convent in the Spineta district. Originated in the 11th century and was first mentioned in a document from Pope Nicholas IV in 1291. Today's church,dedicated tothe Assumption of Mary (Santa Maria Assunta), was built between 1724 and 1737 and was consecrated on August 25, 1737.

The train station of Fratta Todina ( Fratta Todina-Monte Castello di Vibio ) is on the railway line from Sansepolcro via Perugia to Terni . The former Strada Statale 397 di Montemolino (now a provincial road) runs through the municipality from Marsciano to Todi .
