history
The first human settlements in the place go back to the 8th to 4th centuries BC. BC when the Naharci inhabited small settlements. After that, the Romans dominated the area. 1178 built the Count of Spoleto, Corrado di Hursligen, the castle, which already twenty years later, the Papal States was adopted. This was destroyed by Spoleto in order to build a new one in almost the same place. The new castle was named after Anatolia Callistene, who is still present in the place name today. In 1320 the city walls were built and in 1337 the place declared itself loyal to Spoleto. During the clashes of Ghibellines and Guelphs 1390-91 in the Valnerina valley, the place was destroyed under the Ghibelline commanders Tommaso da Chiavano and Giovanni di Cola di Monteleone. On July 5, 1551, the place declared itself a free commune, in which he wrote his statutes. Nevertheless, the place continued to have close ties to Spoleto and the Papal States until Napoleon's troops marched in in 1798 and ruled until 1814. In 1861 the place was integrated into the Kingdom of Italy . The previously free municipality of Caso was incorporated into the municipality of Sant'Anatolia di Narco in 1875.
