The Ackroyd Point is a headland on the Pennell Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is located immediately east of the mouth of the O'Hara Glacier on the south side of the inner section of Yule Bay .

The United States Geological Survey mapped it through survey work and with the help of aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1960 and 1962. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1969 after Lieutenant Frederick William Ackroyd (* 1930), medical officer of the Naval Air Facility on the McMurdo Station in 1958.
