Acme is a town in the Canadian province of Alberta in Kneehill County , about 80 kilometers northeast of Calgary and has the status of a village ( English Village ). Acme was recognized as a site on July 10, 1910.

Acme's history is strongly linked to the Canadian Pacific Railway . Economically, the village is very strongly focused on agriculture, which is where most of the jobs in the region are available.

Demographics

The census in 2016 showed a population of 653 inhabitants for the municipality, after the census in 2011 also showed a population of 653 inhabitants for the municipality. The population has not changed compared to the last census in 2011, while the provincial average was a population increase of 11.6%. In the census period 2006 to 2011, the number of inhabitants in the municipality decreased by 0.5%, while the provincial average increased by 10.8%.
