Acrosternum (Acrosternum) millierei is a type of bug from the family of stink bugs (Pentatomidae).

features

The light green colored bugs reach a body length of 7-10.5 mm. The feelers are also colored green.

distribution

The species is found around the Mediterranean (holomediterranean), on the Canary Islands, in the Middle East , in Central Asia and in tropical Africa.

Way of life

Acrosternum millierei is a phytophagous type of bug. The bugs can be found on various plants such as Spanish juniper ( Juniperus thurifera ), mastic ( Pistacia lentiscus ), turpentine pistachio ( Pistacia terebinthus ), beach spurge ( Euphorbia paralias ), white ( Morus alba ) or black Mulberry ( Morus nigra ) or on olive trees ( Olea europaea ). In the Middle East (Iran), the species is considered a pest because it causes damage to pistachio trees there.
