Acrotrichis fascicularis is a beetle fromthe dwarf beetle family (Ptiliidae).
features
The beetles reach a body length of 0.85 to 0.9 millimeters and are thus slightly smaller than the similar Acrotrichis intermedia . Their body is a little wider and darker in color. The posterior angles of the pronotum are pointed and drawn back. The former is at most slightly more shiny than the upper wing and is evenly structured very closely and punctiform. The wings are clearly tapered in the male and very little tapered in the female. The antennae are brown, their first two links are reddish. The legs are yellow-red.
Occurrence and way of life
The species occurs in Europe and North America. It is widespread in Central Europe and common everywhere. The animals live under rotting plant material.
