Actidium is a genus of beetles from the family of dwarf beetles (Ptiliidae) within the subfamily Ptiliinae . It occurs in Europe with seven types and subspecies, five types are also common in Central Europe.

features

The very small beetles are similar to those of the genus Ptilium . Its body is narrow and has almost parallel sides, the color is dark and dull. The pronotum is tapered backwards and sloping sideways to the base. The pronotum base is significantly narrower than its front edge. The pronotum is the same width as the wing . These are stretched and form a curve at their tip. They have no longitudinal furrows.

Occurrence and way of life

The animals colonize humid habitats on swamps, rivers and on the seashore. They live in moss or rotting plant material.
