features

The beetles are easily recognizable by the three more or less strongly developed longitudinal furrows on the pronotum . The lateral furrows are rarely missing, and then the middle furrow has no dimple-like depression. The upper side of the body is finely and densely structured and very finely haired. It is shagreened at the bottom and only has a weak sheen. The pronotum is tapered at the base, the wings are long and together end broadly rounded. The individual species of the genus are difficult to distinguish from one another.

Occurrence and way of life

The animals live in rotting plant matter and manure.
