Action League Now! is a stop-motion children's show that was originally shown on All That and has since become an integral part of the KaBlam! has been. It later became a separate show that aired in the United States from November 25, 2001 through February 10, 2002 . The episodes were created in the so-called chuckimation style (a combination of stop motion and video technology ). The series depicts the adventures of a superhero troupe called the Action League , which consists of several action figures, toys, and dolls.

Characters

The flesh
“He's super strong and super naked!” - A blond, muscular, dumb bodybuilder who never wears clothes. His standard sayings are childish expressions like "Ouchi" or "Oopsie". His superpower is the extreme muscle power with which he is able to lift huge objects such as buses and stones. The figure used for Flesh is a modified Conan the Adventurer action figure.
Thundergirl
“She flies like thunder!” - The only female member of the team, as well as the only one with the ability to fly. Usually, their flight is always accompanied by a tune that closely resembles John Williams' Star Wars tune. She is worshiped by Meltman, whom she mostly ignores. Furthermore, she feels superior to the rest of the members. A recurring running gag is that she claims she will use her superpowers but realizes too late that she doesn't have any. The character used for Thundergirl was the head of a Sindy doll that was slipped onto an unknown hero's body. Her looks are likely based on Wonder Woman .
Stinky Diver
"The former Navy Commander who's as bad as he smells!" - A bearded diver who is often shown in or near a toilet. As its name suggests, Stinky has a stinky smell to which the Action League has apparently already gotten used to and which therefore doesn't mind. Although he has no superpowers, he always has a harpoon with him. Stinky is a deformed 1994 GI Joe's Shipwreck action figure.
Meltman
“With the incredible power to melt!” - Meltman has the ability to melt and is the smallest and weakest member of the Action League. He is in love with Thundergirl, but she doesn't reciprocate his feelings for her. Since melting is his only special skill, he is not really helpful and is often viewed as a servant of the League to help them e.g. B. Get lemonade. Because of this, he tries everything to be valued by the League.
The chief
He is an angry, frustrated man and also the boss of the Action League, who regularly yells at the Action League for its mistakes and arguments. The Chief is made from modified, assembled pieces from Playskool's "Play People" dollhouse figures.
justice
The beloved Golden Retriever and the Chief's best friend who appears in many episodes. In principle, the dog is a member of the Action League and serves as Lassie the show, which warns the action Leaguer from dangers which they would otherwise not noticed.
The mayor
The team's main enemy. The reason for his dislike of the Action League is unknown. The mayor was pieced together from various Playskool dollhouse figures.
Bill, the man from the lab
A scientist who often messes up his experiments. His standard sayings include statements such as "Unfortunately, I can't do anything about that" and "That has not yet been sufficiently tested". Bill has a monotonous voice and takes himself as a scientist extremely seriously, even if his experiments usually go wrong. Like the Chief and the Mayor, Bill was pieced together from various Playskool dollhouse figures.
The narrator
The narrator of the series uses innumerable alliterations and overreactions mostly shortly before and after the commercial break. He has a deep, monotonous voice, similar to Bill, and is never shown.
