Conan the Adventurer (Original title: Conan the Adventurer ) is an American fantasy - television series based on that of Robert E. Howard -created character Conan is based. Visually, it was based on the main character embodied by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1982 film Conan the Barbarian . The series consists of a season with 22 episodes.
The publication in the USA took place on September 22, 1997 via Syndication . In Germany, ZDF showed the series from January 3, 1998.

Years ago Conan's parents were murdered by the cruel wizard Hissah Zul, who ruled large areas with magic and terror. Conan fell into slavery as a child, but was able to break free from it and has been looking for Hissah Zul to avenge his parents' murder ever since. The wizard himself has meanwhile a great interest in having Conan killed, because he was prophesied that one day he would die by a warrior in whose veins the blood of the rulers of the submerged empire of Atlantis flows. When Conan finally finds a sword from Atlantis and the god Crom speaks to him, Hissah Zul sees his fears confirmed that it is Conan who will kill him. He therefore sends soldiers as well as the magician Yara to take down Conan. However, Conan finds three loyal companions in Otli, Vulkar and Zzeben who want to help him defeat Hissah Zul.
Roles and performers
The series is not a continuation of the two films with Arnold Schwarzenegger from the 1980s. Although the pilot episode offers similarities (enslavement of Conan as a child, finding an Atlantid sword), it develops an independent plot. The portrayal of Conan himself also differs significantly: While Conan played by Schwarzenegger was still a taciturn and brutal warrior, Möller plays him as a charismatic and helpful adventurer.
The two Conan actors Ralf Moeller and Arnold Schwarzenegger have been friends for many years.
In episode 14 Angelica Bridges have guest appearances as Red Sonja , Verona Pooth and Robert Culp .
In the credits Robert E. Howard are named as creators of Conans , Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith as creators of Red Sonja.
