Acylglycerol 3-phosphate-O-acyltransferases

Acylglycerol-3-phosphate O -Acyltransferasen ( AGPAT ), and glycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase ( GPAT ), are a group of enzymes , the most metabolism of lipids are involved.

Probably the best characterized AGPAT is glycerol-3-phosphate-O-acyltransferase 3 (GPAT3). AGPAT are involved in the biosynthesis of glycerolipids . They transfer an acyl group from acyl-CoA to the hydroxyl group on acyl-glycerol-3-phosphates as with lysophosphatidic acid at position 2.
