Adèle Kindt
Adèle Kindt (born December 16, 1804 in Brussels , † 1884 in Schaerbeek ) was a Belgian history and portrait painter .
Life
Marie Adélaïde Kindt was born on December 16, 1804 to Charles Kindt and Marie Anne Buttos in Brussels. She received her first lessons from Sophie Frémiet , a student of Jacques Louis David . In 1828 she entered the studio of François Joseph Navez . She was awarded a first prize for the painting Egmont's farewell to his wife . In 1827 she became a member of the Koninklijke Vlaamse Academie van België voor Wetenschappen en Kunsten in Brussels and in 1835 in Ghent . Adèle Kindt, who had lived in Schaerbeek since the 1850s, died here in 1884.
