Adalbald von Ostrevant († around 645 in Périgueux (?)) Was a saint and Frankish nobleman at the court of the Merovingian king Dagobert I. Adalbald, a grandson of Gertrud von Ostrevant (also: Gertrud von Hamage), met his wife, the saint Richtrudis 635 know during a Dagobert campaign against the Gascon . Adalbald and Richtrudis had four children, Adalsind , Chlotsind , Eusebia and Maurontus , who are also venerated as saints in France. According to legend, Adalbald was murdered by relatives of his wife in Périgueux while traveling to Gascony, which is why he went down in history as a martyr.
