Adalbert Eledui
Adalbert Eledui (born August 5, 1948 , † December 14, 2010 in Koror ) was a Palaui politician .
Eledui attended Seventh Day Adventist Elementary School and then Palau High School , which he graduated in 1968. Eledui now studied at the University of Guam and then joined the US Army in 1969 . After a 23-year career, he retired in 1992. At this point he held the rank of sergeant major . Eledui later served in the government of the administrative state of Koror and became director of the Department of Conservation and Law Enforcement . As such, he campaigned for the protection and preservation of the Chelbacheb Islands .
November 2008 he was elected to the Palau Senate, the nine-member upper house of the Palau parliament . As a Senator, he drove the creation of the Coral Reef Research Center .
Eledui was married and had a daughter. He was one of the founding members of the Palau Conservation Society .
