Adalbert Prechtl

Adalbert Prechtl (born April 15, 1949 in Payerbach ) is an Austrian electrical engineer , university professor and dean of the faculty for electrical engineering. From 2011 to 2015 he was Vice Rector at the Technical University of Vienna . His university areas of activity are teaching with a focus on the fundamentals and theory of electrical engineering and classical field theories related to engineering .

From 1969 Adalbert Prechtl studied electrical engineering with a focus on electrical power engineering . From 1975 various activities as a contract assistant followed and the doctorate, which deals with the electrodynamics of deformable bodies. He completed his habilitation in theoretical electrical engineering. In the mid-1980s he switched to industry for a few years until he was appointed professor for the basics and theory of electrical engineering at the Vienna University of Technology in 1989. Since 1998 he has held the position of Dean of Studies in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
