Adalberto Madero

Adalberto Arturo Madero Quiroga (born September 25, 1969 in Monterrey , Nuevo León in Mexico ) is a Mexican lawyer , politician of the Partido Acción Nacional and former mayor of Monterrey. He was also a member of the Mexican Senate .

Life

Madero studied law in Mexico, Dublin in Ireland and in the USA in Seattle and Washington .

Political career

In 1997 he entered the Nuevo León State Congress for his party . In 2000 he won a seat in the Mexican Senate. In 2006 he won the mayoral election of Monterrey against the candidate of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional Abel Guerra .

While he was still mayor in office, he was expelled from the PAN for corruption.

In 2009 he was replaced by Fernando Larrazábal Bretón .

On October 8, 2011, he was arrested in connection with the arson attack on Casino Royale , in which 52 people were killed. He is said to have illegally issued the operating license for the casino.
