Adam Barteld

Johann Adam Heinrich Barteld (born December 1, 1876 in Halle (Westphalia) ; † April 6, 1963 in Bielefeld ) was a German post office worker and politician ( DDP , DStP).

Life

Adam Barteld was born the son of a farm owner. After attending primary school and Schumann's private school in Hanover , he joined the administration of the Reichspost as a postal assistant in 1894 . He became post office assistant in 1898, post office secretary in 1907, post office secretary in 1917, post office inspector in 1920, post office inspector in 1925 and post office officer in 1929. He also took part in the First World War as a soldier and was awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class.

Barteld was from 1918 to 1919 a member of the provisional main board and from 1919 to 1922 and again from 1925 to 1930 a member of the party committee of the German Democratic Party. From October 7, 1919 to 1921, he was a substitute for Rudolf Otto in the Prussian state assembly . From 1921 to 1932 he was a member of the Prussian state parliament (since 1930 as a member of the German State Party faction). In parliament he represented constituency 16 (south Hanover).

Barteld moved to Bielefeld in December 1930. In 1954 he retired as senior post office officer.

Adam Barteld was married to Martha Golze since 1912.
