Adam Beyer (* 15. May 1976 in Stockholm ) is a techno - DJ and - producer from Sweden .

Life

As a teenager , Adam Beyer played drums . In 1990 he bought his first turntable and concentrated on putting and mixing records. His favorite styles were hip-hop , acid, and techno .

In 1992 his friend Peter Benisch explained to him how a sampler works and just a year later Beyer received his first recording contract with the Direct Drive label from New York .

In 1995 Adam Beyer graduated from school and started working for the record store “Planet Rhythm” ( Stockholm ). In parallel, he published under a variety of pseudonyms on different labels and toured as a DJ through Scandinavia . In the same year he released the record "Drumcode 1", with which he discovered his own style and which made him known within the scene.

Drumcode also became the name of Beyer's first own record label . After six publications and increasing success, Beyer launched the Code Red sub-label . In 2002 he founded another record label with Truesoul Records . Above all, this should represent a platform for experiments with influences from a wide range of musical directions. The focus is on the release of concept albums .

Beyer helped Stockholm to an important position within the techno scene. Techno greats like Joel Mull and Cari Lekebusch are under contract with Drumcode . The team tours regularly through European clubs. The parties are announced as "Drumcode Night".
